EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Closing Out a Powerful Year of Advocacy & Growth
As we close out the year, Freedom to Choose Schools celebrates a season of bold advocacy, deep community engagement, and momentum that positions us for an even stronger 2026. Across the country, our team showed what it means to champion educational freedom; meeting families where they are, elevating school leaders, and building bipartisan support for change.
This year, we visited charter, microschool, and homeschool communities- engaging directly with educators, parents, and students. These tours also opened doors for powerful relationship-building: we met with more than 30 lawmakers, strengthening our coalition and ensuring our priorities remain at the forefront of upcoming legislative sessions.
Our work to amplify schools continued through town halls hosted on school campuses, creating safe spaces for families to voice concerns, share victories, and shape the agenda for equitable school choice. A highlight of the year was our 3rd Annual Freedom to Choose Schools Gala, where we witnessed a historic moment: the transformation of KIPP High School to honor Ms. Sarah Carpenter, a trailblazer whose legacy continues to inspire our movement.
We are also thrilled to welcome new team members, like Erika De La Rosa, who bring passion, expertise, and fresh energy to our mission. Their leadership will help us accelerate our goals for 2026, which include expanding advocacy teams in schools, activating more parent voices, driving forward legislative wins, and building the largest coalition of Black and Latino school-choice champions in the country.
Thank you for standing with us, supporting our work, and believing in the power of educational freedom. Together, we are building a future where every family can truly choose the school that helps their child thrive.
In Solidarity,
