Portia Green is a dedicated and dynamic educational leader with over two decades of experience in teaching and administration, committed to fostering student success and community impact. As Principal of Prichard Preparatory School in Whistler, Alabama, she oversees a team of 20 staff members and leads the education of 120 elementary students. Under her leadership, the school achieved AdvancEd/SACS/COGNIA re-accreditation in 2020 and saw a 28% increase in enrollment. Prichard Preparatory School also gained national recognition during her tenure, earning the prestigious Yass Prize Stop Award and honors from the CATO Institute and Forbes.

Portia’s journey at Prichard Preparatory School began as a parent seeking affordable, high-quality education for her daughter. Her dedication and natural leadership led her to progress organically within the school, serving as a parent volunteer, teacher, Executive Director, and now Principal. In her previous role as Executive Director, Portia successfully managed the school’s finances, human resources, operations, and compliance, ensuring efficiency and adherence to regulatory standards.

Her passion for educational opportunity and parental choice drives her education advocacy at the national level. She continues to advocate for policies that empower families and expand educational opportunities for students across the country.
