DESCRIPTION:FCS sponsored the annual Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce event this year! It was a great turnout and we were happy to see some of our charter colleagues there\, like Harmony Schools\, Latinos for Education\, and KIPP. \nOur CEO Jay Artis-Wright\, along with FCS Action board chair\, Victor Evans\, met with several TN lawmakers to discuss education and the future of our work.  Huge thank you to state Representatives Slater\, White and Love for taking time to meet with us.  \nFCS CEO\, along with our partners\, CBED- Sharif El Mekki\, Brightbeam- Chris Stewart and Energy Converters- Dr Charles Cole presented findings and research at the Charter School Growth Fund summit in West Palm Beach.

Together\, they met with lawmakers to share firsthand what makes their charter schools so wonderful — and why these schools are vital to families and communities across Georgia. \nEach week\, a new group of schools joined the movement to make their voices heard: \n\nWeek of February 10: Ivy Prep School\nWeek of February 27: Utopian Academy\nWeek of March 10: KIPP Strive & PEACE Academy\nWeek of March 17: Kindezi 04W\, Gideon\, & West Schools\nWeeks of March 24 & March 31: Liberation Academy\n\nThese visits celebrated the dedication and impact of charter schools and the communities they serve — reminding everyone that student success and educational freedom deserve a strong voice.
