Rev. Janelle Wood is the Founder and CEO of Black Mothers Forum, Inc., a nonprofit organization founded in 2016 by Black mothers committed to strengthening families and communities. Through her leadership, the organization works to address violence in the Black community, dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline, and restore strength, dignity, and hope.

Janelle is a passionate advocate for educational freedom and believes parents should have meaningful choices in determining the learning environments that best serve their children. Her work is grounded in a commitment to ensuring that Black children have the opportunity to pursue their God-given purpose free from systems, laws, policies, and practices that limit their potential.

Janelle earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Arizona State University and a Master of Arts in Biblical Leadership from Phoenix Seminary. She has been married for more than 30 years and is the proud mother of an adult son.
